"Houseful of Mussels"

This was the second and last of van de Wetering's Grijpstra and de Gier stories which he allowed me to translate from Dutch into English.

I never knew for sure why he stopped having me do them, but someone suggested to me that he was annoyed that he never won anything for his translations of his own stories ... but then my translation of his "There Goes Ravelaar!" was selected as a finalist for the Edgar Award. If the roles had been reversed, that would have gotten me to ask him to continue translating my work, but to each his own....
