The Notecard Assignment
Make a sample notecard which could be used in the delivery of your upcoming persuasion speech, following the suggestions which were offered in class (see Effective Preparation and Use of Notes for a summary). If you follow the suggestions, you will earn full credit. If you don't, you may earn partial credit anyway, if the notecard you make seems likely to help you should your speech "hit an iceberg" and begin to sink.
You may well — in fact, you should — make a new, different notecard between submitting this assignment and the actual delivery of the speech. This homework notecard is intended to give you the opportunity to demonstrate that you understand how to make a supportive notecard. Remember, though, you should make a new, different notecard for every rehearsal, then a new one for the first day of the round of speeches — and then, if you don't get called on the first speech day, a new one for the next day.
