On Friday morning, Laurie and I drove to Arlington, VA, to see her grandmother, Virginia Ewing, who was 93 and too frail to attend the wedding. Meanwhile, Becca and Geetika picked Richard up at his hotel, and the three of them went out to BWI to meet my sister Laura’s plane. Ultimately, we linked up with them at Joss Sushi back in Annapolis for lunch. Here’s Laurie with her new sister-in-law Laura — this was their first meeting! (Sadly, Grandma Ewing passed away two weeks later, on August 28.)
