| Laurie and Tessa got to Iowa on October 4, and stayed for a week. On the 5th, we all drove northeast, found the kosher grocery in Postville and bought pastrami and corned beef, then continued on to Effigy Mounds National Monument for the annual Hawkwatch. Effigy Mounds is fascinating — the millenia-old burial mounds look like bears and birds, no way around it. And we saw hawks! |
