I've been volunteering at the Cleveland International Film Festival for the last dozen years or so, and in mid-March, during my spring break, Laurie and I drove up to NE OH for a long weekend, just in time to spend one day validating parking tickets and ushering festivalgoers to their seats. We also made time to hit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Natural History Museum — and to eat in several of my favorite restaurants, such as the Mad Cactus in Strongsville, Tommy's in Coventry, and Pier W in Lakewood. One night, we had dinner at Paladar, an upscale new Latin American place, with my old friends Les and Holly and even older friends Mark and Sally. Reading the faces that aren't Laurie and me from left to right, that's Les, Sally, Mark and Holly.
