For as long as I've known her, Laurie's been talking about musician Dave Alvin, who used to front the Blasters but has for the last while been out on his own. We finally saw him on March 21, at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. We went to both shows — at 7 and 10 PM — and, between shows, we spotted Dave out behind the building and talked with him for a while. Nice guy, great music — for more info, check his website.
