"The Pig is Committed"

This is another of my stories that started out as nothing but a title.

Years ago, I stumbled across a question and answer that resonated with me. Question: What's the difference between "involvement" and "commitment"? Answer: When you walk into a diner and order an eggs-and-bacon breakfast, the chicken is involved, but the pig is committed.

As soon as I heard that, I added "The Pig is Committed" to my file of "someday" titles. It wasn't until 2020 that I finally sat down and wrote the story. I sent it to Kerry Carter at Mystery Weekly, she bought it, and it appeared in MW's April 2020 issue. You can purchase a copy here, if you'd like to read the story.
